I need to run a script on my web server at certain intervals; however,
(1) my host does not support cron, or (2) I don't know how and for
whatever reason do not want to learn how to use cron.
Is there another solution?
By using your taskscheduler, you can make your browser 'open/run' a script on the host, at pre-determined intervals.
The objective of this little tip is NOT to simply demonstrate how to run a 'non-cron-cron', it is intended you lead to bigger ideas. Like...
Client, each morning, needs to have a report generated by his/her web site, in excel format, saved on his/her computer AND a hard copy printed out on their printer. All with no human intervention. Can do?
